Perkins Shipping Group was a major Australian coastal and community shipping operator based in Darwin, Northern Territory. For around 50 years, it provided scheduled coastal freight services to remote communities and towns across the Northern Territory and parts of Far North Queensland and Western Australia. Its operations included barge services, vessel charters, marine freight, freight transport, and logistics, supported by its own trucks, trailers and containers. Toll acquired Perkins Shipping Group in July 2009, after which the Perkins operations became part of Toll’s logistics business. Historical records also list Perkins Shipping Pty Ltd as the owner/operator of several vessels.
